Tanjong Heritage

The Tanjong Heritage art competition was launched in 2001 as part of Tanjong's corporate social responsibility in the field of arts and culture.

The primary objectives of the competition are to promote the appreciation of Malaysia’s heritage among Malaysian youth and to nurture and showcase the talents of our young artists.

The theme of the competition is Heritage, in which young persons are given the opportunity to demonstrate their expression of our heritage by doing an art piece of one of the gifts of heritage. The artwork can cover topics in rural or urban settings within Malaysia, which can include historical locations such as Penang, Melaka and others that encompass heritage significance within Malaysia.

The Tanjong Heritage art competition is open to art colleges and tertiary level institutions in Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Entry forms for this annual art competition are sent to the colleges in June and the closing date for submission of artworks is in August.
